With this weeks roundup you might think there was a christening of a king at my house.
Well you’d be on the right track, we chowed down!
But it’s more along the lines of foods that would help me write this week’s think piece - how I heal after dying, postmortem. The death of the woman and the birth of a mother, is what I call, postmortem. What we know as postpartum, less sleep more snuggles, less looking and feeling like yourself more pouring into rightfully dependent children. In life there is the yin to yang. As above as below, the dark and light, moon and sun. Birth of Baby, Death of the newfound mother. It is balance of existence. And in regards to motherhood, birthing is an under played major medical event. And lucky for all of us, it is a chasm I have walked through before. And for this weeks food folio, these are the meals that were “buried with me” giving me the strength to fight in the unseen battles after(life)birth .
Main Dishes: Beef Salads! Took the hyper fixation meal this last week and dare I say-it wont be going anywhere soon. Light and flavorful its the perfect meal to take a midafternoon nap after.
Key Must Haves: Dill, Lime, Sauerkraut, Cheddar Cheese, beef liver + heart +ground
Nice if you want to splurge: prebiotic sour cream, vodka sauce
Repeat Restaurant Food Prep: ajitima, brown sugar coconut vanilla milk
I’ve used lime, caramel and dill in at least one meal a day. It’s so SPRING coded for my personal taste buds. Overall I’ve just been having fun in my bright new kitchen, taking advantage of my paid village (daycare) and am just playing an measuring in vibes (see: vibrational cooking)
